As promised, here are my final drawings side-by-side with the original paintings that inspired them. All original paintings scanned from “Gil Elvgren: The Complete Pin-ups,” © 2009 TASCHEN GmbH.
All of the coloring was done digitally in Photoshop CS4, with a Wacom Intuos®3 6″x8″ tablet. The previous 2007 iterations of these goddesses were colored in Corel Painter XI. The inking process of these is pretty straight-forward. I was a bit nervous because pen and ink are not my media of choice and the one in which I probably have the least practice.
